Launch of new resource a great success!

Life's for Living celebrated the launch of the 'What I'd Like You To Know About Me!' web resource (www.aboutme.org.au) on the 29th August. It was a fantastic event which focussed on children and young people with disabilities and their families. Minister Weatherill attended the launch and spoke of the importance of the resource for families.

The 'What I'd Like You To Know About Me!' web resource (www.aboutme.org.au) was launched by Jayne Lehmann, parent to three girls - one of whom has a disability. Jayne's passion for the resource shone through as she commended the efforts of Life's for Living and gave an insight into how the resource has made a difference to her daughter.

The resource was showcased during a demonstration by Julie Brookes (Training and Promotions Officer) and Victoria Wright (Project Manager). The evening included presentations of thankyou gifts to Jayne Lehmann and three other families whose children were chosen to be a part of the promotional campaign.

A fun night was had by all, with showbags being handed out by harry potter, a fairy queen, a wizard and batman! The many children who attended spent much of the evening colouring in the "about me" colouring in books.
