The Talking Together Committee has resumed its meetings for 2007 and has discussed what it would like to do, and achieve, through the year. These areas have been influenced by the “Vision” of the Talking Together Committee that was finalised at the end of last year.
Also late last year, the Committee finalised the Quality Questionnaire that will be conducted with each client at Life’s for Living. The aim of the questionnaire is to assess how clients feel about the service that is provided to them. The questions were devised with assistance from the Committee members and reflect the National Disability Services Standards. The questionnaires are currently being conducted with representatives from the Committee also in attendance, and will hopefully be finalised by the end of March, 2007.
Life’s for Living has two Occupational Therapy students undertaking a project called “Volunteering Pathways”. The Committee has been asked to assist with some research in this project to determine how or if volunteers could be of assistance in the future at Life’s for Living. Some Committee members have agreed to have further talks with the students in order to share their ideas on this topic. This project will be completed in April, 2007.
The Talking Together Committee is keen to invite people from outside Life’s for Living to join in on the Committee meetings. The Committee will be seeking other groups / individuals in the community to come and be guest speakers at their meetings. Other ideas the Committee is looking at for 2007 include:
The Talking Together Committee continues to be a valuable resource for Life’s for Living, in understanding perceptions from the client’s point of view, and we all look forward to another year of learning more about each other, and what we can achieve as a Team.
