Student Placements
TAFE
Life’s for Living believes that hosting student placements can have enormous benefits for both the organisation and the student. The organisation has successfully hosted many TAFE placements with students working alongside client teams. Individual projects can be negotiated with the organisation. Life’s for Living requires all students to have Police Checks and to adhere to the confidentiality agreements and the Life’s for Living Code of Conduct.
Tertiary
Over the past 4 years, Life's for Living has developed a relationship with the University of South Australia, Occupational Therapy Department. This has enabled us to take part in several exciting projects with fourth year OT students.
In 2004, the students assisted in the development of the CDROM Resource Kit “What I’d Like You to Know About Me!”. This product is now available to the wider disability sector and was launched at the Australasian Society of the Study of Intellectual Disability Conference in 2004.
In 2006, the students developed a Recreational Resource to assist our support staff to help clients access recreational facilities in the community.
In 2007, a volunteer program was developed by the student group. This has subsequently led to further enhancement of volunteering processes at Life's for Living. A volunteer co-ordinator now oversees this important work.
We also welcome enquiries from students in other disciplines.
