Luigi was a man who was an inspiration to us all and a true example of the power of the human spirit which can drive one through the adversities of life one faces. In his eyes the disadvantages he had were never greater than the inconveniences of others, and he felt compassion for those even though his own needs were more so. When I sometimes wallow in self pity in times that life seems so unfair, I remember how he use to embrace every moment of life that came along as if it was his last chance for fulfillment. In the garden of the home he lived at, there is climbing rose that grows in memory of his life. The bush is scrawny and imperfect but when it is time, the perfect rose bud opens in beautiful bloom, a real metaphor of the life he lived. Such a person was this man whose Maker called him Home, his work here was done, " oh good and faithful servant in this life". I will never forget you Luigi Romano, Love John Stam
